placement sequence, the FX-3R mounter has an effective tact time of 90,000 cph (per IPC 9850). Pinnacle benefits from Juki’s

KE-3020V high-speed flexible mount - er, a seventh-generation modular placement machine. It supports a hy- brid feeder mix of electronic and me- chanical feeders, with a capacity of as many as 160 dual-lane electronic 8mm tape feeders per machine and a maximum board size of 610 x 560mm. The KE-3020V, in combination with the optional linear and rotary fluxer, is excellent for package-on-package (PoP) products.

Printing Large PCBs Pinnacle’s new K3-R printer is

designed by GKG Asia and distrib- uted by Juki Automation. It can han- dle PCBs as large as 24 x 24-in. (610 x 610mm) and has an adjustable stencil frame size (minimum of 650 x 650mm and maximum of 850 x 850mm) with no adapter needed. In addition, the printer has an auto con- veyor with adjustable, auto-pressure- check (APC) system, and a patented PCB “flexible auto clamp” system. The printer includes a stencil posi- tion memory function that provides quick, easy changeover, auto stencil cleaning for dry, wet, or vacuum con- ditions, and a core cycle time of less than 9.5 seconds. Armed with these new tools,

Pinnacle Technology continues to of- fer an even more extensive range of services to its customers, including engineering services, medical train- ing products, electronic manufactur- ing services, and quality standards and management. Engineering serv- ices, for example, allow Pinnacle to turn customer ideas into reliable, low-cost products. The medical train- ing products are designed to help stu- dents learn and assist instructors with the highest-quality training equipment. Pinnacle’s simulators use “Real

Patient Data” for a more realistic training experience. In terms of elec- tronic manufacturing services, the company attempts to provide a world-class product on time and with the highest quality possible. Perfect- ing processes on the front end is one key to supporting its electronic man- ufacturing efforts. All manufactured products go through an extensive new-product introduction process in which all assembly requirements are identified. Manufacturing capabili- ties include surface-mount assembly, through-hole assembly, conformal coating, box build, functional test, PoP placement, fine-pitch ball-grid- array (BGA) packaging, automated optical

wave/selective/reflow

inspection (AOI), and soldering

processes. Every Pinnacle employee is cer-

tified to IPC-A-610D and the compa- ny’s organizational initiative is to spend at least 200 hours in job-spe- cific training throughout the year. It also offers rapid prototyping services, which generally differentiates the firm from other companies. The rap- id response team can handle require- ment changes efficiently and effec- tively, providing a product when most needed:
