San Jose, CA —Javad EMS (JEMS), a global EMS company that provides low-to-medium-volume, high-mix ap- plications, has added a large board line to continue meeting customer needs. With the use of HDI printed cir- cuit boards, more densely populated boards using high pin count BGAs, QFNs and LGAs, µBGAs, and smaller and smaller devices including 10005s, assemblies should be getting smaller in size. However, in some cases it is the inverse: printed circuit boards are getting larger. Thus JEMS has made a sizeable
investment to provide large board ca- pability to customers. With a planned expansion the company will have the capability of handling boards that are up to 22 x 26-in. in an in-line manufacturing process to complement its three other existing Juki surface mount lines. To provide this capability,

JEMS purchased new equipment and upgraded some existing equip- ment. The additions include a Juki K3 screen printer, a CyberOptics SE500-X 3D solder paste inspection system, a Juki RX-6 flexible place- ment system and a ViTrox 800 XXL 3D X-ray system. These new ma- chines combine with existing Juki
3070/3080 placement systems, a Juki RS-1000 N2 reflow system and a Nordson YESTECH AOI system to ensure that boards can pass through the entire process without the need

Fremont, CA — Datest, a provider of advanced, efficient and mission-criti- cal in-circuit testing, test engineer- ing, and X-ray inspection solutions, has introduced a new PCB reverse engineering service. With its new ca- pability, the company can now re- build CAD files and board data from printed circuit boards (PCBs) and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). Reverse engineering a PCB or a
PCBA is used for producing PCB/ PCBAs without CAD files or other board data. It also is useful for up-
dating/modifying obsolete boards, re- designing an antiquated or obsolete PCB into a contemporary and cost-ef- fective product and testing obsolete boards. Starting from the automatic ac-
quisition of the net list, Datest gener- ates a comprehensive set of board data: CAD file, electronic schematics,
net list and part list. Contact: Datest Corporation,
