Your Business Model 10:00-13:00, Room D202,

and Designing Residential Energy

Management Systems, 14:00-17:00, Room D202 “ISE not only brings new products for the Custom Integrator to review, but also new and exciting educational offerings where our members across the globe can perfect their skills. We purposely arrange our education calendar so as not to take you away from the show floor for too long on each day, and thanks to the huge success that we have seen in our new networking school this year, we are delighted to be offering all three classes, plus the new Residential Networking Specialist, at ISE. We will also be bringing a selection of the new business classes, including the increasingly popular ‘Let’s Make Money’ course.”

Neta Lempert, CTS, VP Digital Business Development, Kramer Electronics, presenting Beyond

BYOD – How Can We Make It Happen?, 10:00-11:00, Room D204

“Join me and other visitors at ISE in exploring the challenges behind the Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) declaration, in my InfoComm presentation at ISE 2014. We will start by getting familiarised with the challenges that BYOD brings with it, and discuss several ways of how to connect our mobile devices (phones or tablets) to the AV system. At the end of this session, you will be able to future-proof and design a new conference room, using your own device.”

Bill Thomas, CTS-I, Staff Instructor, InfoComm International, presenting AV Systems Commissioning (Performance Verification) Best Practices,

11:30-12:30, Room D204 “Verifying that the installed system meets the requirements of the contract is the crucial step in closing out your project and receiving final payment. Discover how you can make the process more efficient and pain-free for your projects by employing best practice techniques culled from a variety of AV disciplines. As a bonus, learn how the emerging InfoComm Audiovisual Systems Performance Verification Standard can help super charge your verification process.”

Also presenting Digital Signage System Implementation – Where to Start and What’s Important, 14:30-15:30, Room D204 “Are you ready to sell and install digital signage? This session will get you up to speed on getting started. You will walk away from digital signage implementation with a detailed planning checklist and a solid understanding of the types of hardware, software and content available. Take your first steps to digital signage success.”

Richard Zwiebel, Vice President, Systems Strategy, QSC Audio, presenting Network Everything: Implement a Single Network for Audio, Video, Control, Signage, P.O.S., and Data,

11:30-12:30, Room D203 “With advancements in IT, carrying multiple channels of audio and video, POS, control, signage, and ticketing information over a single layer 3 Ethernet network is becoming the new standard. Come learn how standard Ethernet protocols and off the shelf switches work together to distribute audio/video, signage and other data and control interoperability. For practical knowledge, a networked system demonstration will be provided with references to real world projects that are in use today. With a better understanding of Layer 3 networks, you’ll learn how Layer 3 networks can help save you time and help your clients save money.”

Bob Simpson, Founder Director, Electrosonic, presenting Technology Trends in High

Resolution Displays, 13:00-14:00, Room D203

“Progress in display technology has been rapid but in fact it is not difficult to keep up with it, provided you take care to follow the incremental changes. In this talk you will be reminded of some of the fundamentals, and made aware of the many technical and commercial developments that have occurred in the past year or so. Warnings about overhyped technologies will be given, but at the same time some very positive stories will be presented.”

Geoff Meads, Presto AV, presenting The Art Of Project Documentation, 14:00-17:00, Room D201

“Paperwork – it doesn’t seem like the most

glamorous subject does it? Yet this course is popular wherever it’s run. While few of us actually enjoy form filling and note-taking most small to medium business owners recognise that additional profit lies in formalising and streamlining their processes. Great documentation delivers just that, a formalised process with maximum profit.

“This class examines a typical project from start to finish and describes the ideal paper trail for success. Each example document is explored with profit in mind while, at all times, ensuring the project process doesn’t drown in bureaucracy.”

Joe Cornwall, CTS-D, ISF-C, Technology Evangelist, C2G Inc, presenting Digital Video at Length, 14:30-16:30, Room D203

“The importance of dependable digital video connectivity continues to grow

exponentially as a plethora of consumer and commercial TMDS enabled devices change the nature of installed AV. With analogue infrastructure all but gone, being able to deploy point-to-point connectivity solutions that support TMDS (HDMI) content at critical middle distances is vital. Under 50ft, AV connections are often best served in a native format. Beyond 350ft, AVB and IP solutions may provide the better results. But in the important range between 50 and 350ft, copper structured wiring delivers the greatest efficiency and value. In this presentation participants will explore the characteristics and technology deployed in HD-over- UTP and HDBaseT connectivity solutions. This exploration will focus on operational theory, comparative performance metrics and practical application of the technology to common AV installations.”

Bob Snyder, Editor, rAVe Europe, presenting I Will Survive IT 2015, 16:00-17:00, Room D204

“With more than 1,000 new products at ISE, it's time to give some attention to your

business model, to how you shape your business for the future. My talk will address the competition between integrators, the collision between IT and AV as it affects integrators, and how big vendors hope to shape your future. Entertaining and eye-opening, I predict you won't look at the integration world in the same way after this session. Experts predict one out of every four integrators won't be here in five years: this session is to make sure you are the one that will be left standing.”
