Saphyr is a new mixer/seamless switcher with native matrix mode from Analog Way. Based on the company’s Midra platform, it features 10 seamless inputs and 16 input plugs including DVI-D, HDMI and 3G-SDI, as well as two outputs and a video output with digital and analogue connectivity. In addition, the switcher
provides a mosaic preview with two modes. EDID management is now standard for all computer sources. Saphyr can be used as a mixer or as a matrix, and allows display of up to three layers on a frame background plus two logos per output. The new quick frame function places a foreground
frame over all other layers when necessary. A simple button push allows return to the previous display. The product delivers a number of options to animate layers, including flying zoom, a freeze feature for any input, layer or screen, and the ability to crop frames and logos. As with all products in the
Midra platform, Saphyr includes audio management. Digital audio can easily be embedded or de- embedded on HDMI and DVI-D connectors on inputs and outputs. Saphyr can be controlled
directly from its front panel, which includes a number of hot keys for presets, effects, mosaic preview and so on. It can also be controlled through the RK-350, a

4000 speaker series swelled with new model
GENELEC
The latest addition to the 4000 Series of loudspeakers, designed for the AV install market, is on show at the Genelec stand throughout ISE 2014. The stalwart pro-audio company hopes that the new product will further broaden the appeal of an already successful series and reinforce its postion as a leading loudspeaker brand with products suitable for fixed audio installations.
The Genelec 4000 Series active loudspeakers are ideal for deployment in music playback and speech amplification projects, which makes them a strong choice for a wide variety of contemporary critical commercial installations.
The Directivity Control
Waveguide provides broad and flat coverage for precise imaging in all environments, while Practical Room Response Controls optimise the loudspeaker’s tonal characteristics for any environment. Once installed, overload
protection ensures reliability and 12V contact closure allows for seamless integration with any in-house automation or AV control system.
The 4000 Series is compliant with the Energy Related Products (ERP) Directive which requires that standby power consumption for any product is under 0.5W. The company has achieved this using its proprietary Intelligent Signal- Sensing (ISS) feature. Stand: 3-C90

Availability boost for Kordz HDMI HD CONNECTIVITY
A new partnership aimed at streamlining delivery to UK AV installers will see HD Connectivity offer core HDMI products from Kordz, including the NEO-S3 HDMI extension, directly to its customers for the first time. David Meyer, founder and managing director of Kordz, said: “This is a natural collaboration between two like-minded companies. Both Kordz and HD Connectivity believe that great products come from a solid understanding of HDMI. Our products work so well because they are engineered that way.” Chris Pinder, managing director of HD Connectivity, added: “In Kordz we have a highly specialised
partner that shares an affinity for good design and engineering, reinforced with education and real integrity. Kordz founder David Meyer is regarded as CEDIA’s most authoritative voice in CI-centric HDMI education. Together we want to help demystify the new frontiers of HDMI 2.0 and 4K, providing installers with the knowledge they really need.” Kordz is showing NEO-S3 and its other HDMI cable solutions on the HD Connectivity stand.
Meyer claimed the HDMI
extension, launched in 2013, could alleviate concerns about passive HDMI cable redundancy by upgrading existing installations to the latest high-speed capabilities. He added: “For new installations
we can extend to 30m on thinner, more flexible, easier-to-pull cable, reducing mounting depth at both ends to just one inch. We have received many requests from UK customers looking to upgrade their existing HDMI cable installation to 4K UltraHD while avoiding unnecessary landfill.” Stand: 7-Q195
