NEWS All-weather speaker range in Euro debut COMMUNITY PROFESSIONAL
ISE 2014 is the European launch event for eight brand new models in the premier R-Series loudspeaker line. Community says that three new compact models, the R.15COAX, R.35COAX, and R.35-3896, give systems designers increased flexibility by offering greatly improved music playback, additional coverage patterns, and higher output in paintable ABS enclosures. Five new R-MAX products (the R.5-66MAX, R.5- 96MAX, R2-64MAX, R2-66MAX and R2-94MAX) provide the flattest musical response of premium loudspeakers offered in the R-Series, according to the company. The R.15COAX and R.35COAX use identical 1.25in exit HF compression drivers, featuring Community’s Tru-Phase phase plug technology and Carbon Ring Cone woofer technology, which allows LF drivers to
Introducing the Ray-On family
ACTIVE AUDIO
On the back of the success of its passive column loudspeaker Ray-On 100, Active Audio decided to create a Ray-On line. The range, which is being presented during ISE 2014, includes the Ray-On 60 and the Ray-On 200. Like the Ray-on 100, the
Ray-On 60 and Ray-On 200 passive column loudspeakers that can be mounted vertically very close to a wall. They deliver the same
directivity performance as a DSP column of the same height. The technical solution is based on the DGRC principle (Digital and Geometric Radiation Control), patented by Active Audio, which is a synthesis of electronic and geometric arrays. The Ray-On 60 and 200
were designed for the sound reinforcement of speech and music. They offer an easy set- up without a PC, by wiring the column and its amplifier. Pitched at locations including conference rooms, churches, shopping malls and airports, the range conforms to EN54-24 standards and the certification is now in process. Stand: 3-C90

exhibit cone areas up to 20% larger than standard woofers of the same diameter. Both models incorporate front- loaded LF drivers – 6.5in in the R.15COAX and 10in in the R.35COAX – in highly reinforced enclosures for natural, non- resonant low-frequency reproduction. Identical voicing across both models ensures a uniform listening experience. The R.35-3896 is a triaxial 8in Carbon Ring Cone loudspeaker featuring Community’s MultiSource Waveguide
technology, integrating the output from dual midrange compression drivers and a 1in exit HF compression driver into a single coherent source. The company says the fully passive unit is voiced for flat musical reproduction without EQ and delivers class-leading SPL levels for a loudspeaker of its size. Chris Barrow, Community’s
director of product marketing, said: “The most obvious visual difference is the sleek new paintable ABS enclosure. It is visually superior and offers more
flexibility while costing less to produce. That allowed us to invest in better audio
components for exceptional performance without driving up the price.” The new R-MAX loudspeakers feature premium 1.4in exit HF drivers and 600W
neodymium woofers. x
