this is the traditional time of harvest, when what you have sown you’ll be able to reap. The parallels with running your own business – one supported by a franchisor – are that, while you sow, ie. in the months you spend working on the business according to the tried-and-tested methods, your rewards will be surely ripening and ready to reap when the time comes! It certainly feels more like autumn to me


(particularly given the warm weather we experienced this year compared to summers past) and temperatures on the wane. The rise in sales of umbrellas and thermal longjohns are not the only thing on the up, however. Last month, the Chancellor claimed that the UK economy “is turning a corner”, prompting discussion of an uplift in consumer confi dence and the return of traditional signifi ers that things are in the mend, such as growth in the construction industry. The franchise industry itself is expected


to continue a higher rate of growth than the economy, proving that investors can remain confi dent in their franchise business choices. Indeed, the franchise model works so well that well-known brand Dunkin’ Donuts is
