A

n exciting new franchise business – Kung Fu Schools – is being backed by musician, personality and martial arts enthusiast Peter Andre. The business

will focus on training and coaching classes for children aged four to 12 and will include everything the franchisee needs to start up and run their own local Kung Fu School, including martial arts training from the team, operations manual, equipment kit, merchandising, advertising and marketing materials plus ongoing support from the head office team. In addition, franchisees receive a unique member database, a booking software system and fee collection services. Kung Fu Schools is the brainchild of martial arts master Paul Hawkes, who has been teaching kung fu since 1992. He says: “Over the past six years we have proven that Kung Fu Schools is a profitable, sustainable and scalable business. I want to share my passion for martial arts with others who want to build a worthwhile, rewarding and enjoyable business in their local area. There is a misconception that kung fu is all about aggression. Not only is it reserved strictly for self-defence, but children also learn to be more confident, develop respect for

others and become more focussed on achieving their goals – all parents want this for their children. It’s the ideal opportunity for anyone who is keen on sports and fitness, and would like to work with children to see them improve in confidence, overcome shyness and avoid peer-group pressure.

“The school is now recognised as one of the leading martial arts institutes in the UK”

“I’m delighted Peter Andre has joined us as a friend and business associate. Peter and his children have been coming to our classes for over two years. He is passionate about martial arts and has seen the benefits it has brought to his own life.” Peter Andre adds: “I am very pleased to be a partner of Kung Fu Schools as I am a kung fu enthusiast. I love what they do, what they stand for and I’m in the fortunate position where I can help promote the schools across the country. It’s fantastic for the kids and adults…discipline, focus and doing something

that makes them feel so good about themselves. Confidence in life and a healthy respect for yourself and others is invaluable.” Kung Fu Schools has been successfully running classes for adults and children from its headquarters in Crawley since 2007. Paul’s business partner Alan Paterson runs the other school in Croydon, which has 700 students. The school is now recognised as one of the leading martial arts institutes in the UK. It has been officially endorsed by the Chinese government and is the only martial arts organisation outside of China to be designated a ‘Confucius Classroom’ by the Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Franchisees do not need any experience in martial arts, as the school’s expert team provides comprehensive training in kung fu and how to teach it. In addition, franchisees are provided with comprehensive business advice both in-house and from third party companies, as well as support in recruiting staff. Leading experts in territory mapping (Atlas Mapping), franchise accounting (Dennis & Turnbull) and business development (NEST) will support franchisees on their journey. Kung Fu Schools works with franchise consultancy Platinum Wave to develop the company’s offering, including the development of the overall franchise proposition, key operational manuals and procedures and franchisee recruitment. The franchise fee starts at £10,995+vat – working capital is also required to grow and develop the business. Potential franchisees will be required to undergo a CRB check.n
