MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY
San Shing – High quality threading San Shing Fastech Corp says that its 4-spindle tapping machine provides fastener manufacturers with precise and stable output enabling them to produce high threading quality.
T
he machine has four spindles that can work either simultaneously or independently. The tapping machine is capable of tapping standard hex nuts, square nuts and flange nuts. The thread angularity of fastener products can be within 0.8 degrees, meeting the DIN 13 thread standard.
The tapping machine is designed with 10 degrees inclination, allowing nut blanks
to contact the head of the rod pusher more closely to improve tapping stability and thread quality. The tapping stroke movement is driven by a pneumatic cylinder, which enables a shorter adjustment time when changing different product specification. To create sufficient pressure the air goes to an air accumulator and is then supplied to each shaft to provide stable air pressure to drive the push rod. On each shaft there is a block seat mechanism enclosing the push rod to keep it steady while moving forward and backward and to reduce loading of the pneumatic cylinder. The tapping machine is equipped with a Human Machine Interface that helps
users monitor the production status - such as counting tapped nuts, alarm display of abnormality inspection and taps life control. Through this HMI, users can set the tapping time of each shaft. When the sensor
detects reaction time that is not within upper and lower limits - caused by bad threads, no feeding, nut blanks jam or abnormal air pressure - the automatic defect rejection device will initiate to eject bad nut blanks, ensuring production quality. Other features of the machine include a torque limiter that is used for avoiding damage on nut blanks due to force-feeding, as well as a magnetic chip separator that can improve cleanliness of lubrication oil and extend oil tank maintenance period.
