Anochrome installs new Dip Drain facility Anochrome Technologies Ltd, the specialist surface coating division of the Anochrome Group, recently installed a new Dip Drain facility at its UK site in Bloxwich.

T

he plant, which has a fully automatic cleaning, drying and dip operation, is supplemented by flexible supplementary or additional operation, situated alongside the line. The installation of this Dip Drain line is a result

of growing volumes of work and varied requirements from Anochrome’s customers with automated pre-treatment facilities for coating larger items or items requiring a duplex finish. This will further expand the range of products the Anochrome Group can coat including brackets, pressings, large fasteners and tubular components. Dorken®

Delta KL100 is the first material chosen for this line, although the flexibility of the plant allows for quick

material change over and the potential to run two materials simultaneously. Other zinc flake and organic materials such as Geomet®

and Xylan® together with top coats will be offered when

the need arises. The plant is capable of dipping items within an envelope of 600mm x 600mm x 750mm deep, or for large spray application this is increased to 1,500mm x 600m x 750mm deep. This investment at Anochrome Technologies Ltd is part of the

programme the Anochrome Group has in place to provide ever more cost effective coatings with higher specification finishes and greater flexibility in matching its customers’ requirements. www.anochrome.com

HEROSLAM launches new

range of thread rolling dies HEROSLAM has recently launched a new range of thread rolling dies to cover the increasing demands of fastener producers around the world.

A

lberto Gabika, managing director at HEROSLAM, comments: “Fastener producers face important technical challenges and we want to be their partner as a provider of top quality tooling for improving their thread rolling process. We are detecting an increasing demand for quality

tooling conceived to consistently roll hard materials such as stainless steel, Grade 10.9, 12.9 steel and super alloys such as titanium or Inconel® Many fastener producers perform the thread rolling operation before heat

treatment and once the fastener is hardened it needs to be rolled again to guarantee the thread is correct. This re-work process entails significant costs that fastener producers are looking to avoid. HEROSLAM offers customers a completely new range of thread rolling dies (flat, planetary and cylindrical) conceived to roll hard material fasteners in one single operation, thus avoiding re-works and secondary operations. This new range of thread rolling tools combines top quality steels exclusively

developed for HEROSLAM tools as well as home-made coatings - such as GG coating - and HEROSLAM’s expertise on thread rolling thanks to more than 70 years of experience producing thread rolling dies. HEROSLAM points out that Radiused Root Runout (RRO) features, developed

for specific customers, also play a very important role in achieving the necessary thread quality. RRO makes the end of the thread progressive, thus alleviating the tensions on one of the zones most prone to problems of collapse due to the concentration of tensions. In turn, RRO positively impacts the tool’s performance, since it extends its service life. HEROSLAM offers many different types of RRO depending on the application. Alberto Gabika adds: “Our new range of tools is helping our customers

improve the quality of the fasteners they produce and achieve longer tool service life in thread rolling of hard materials. Thus, our customers are reducing their manufacturing costs by significantly reducing quality issues, avoiding re-work operations, and carrying out fewer machine preparations and changes, minimising machine down time.” HEROSLAM’s new range of dies includes knurling dies, grooving dies, ogival

dies, licensed dies, nail dies, woodscrew dies, aerospace cylindrical dies, planetary dies and special form dies upon customer’s request.
