It is good for students to do group projects. Do you agree? Motivate your answer.
Outline the four guidelines for effective teamwork.
Teamwork is important both at college and in the workplace. So it is important to learn how to work effectively in group projects at college. In teamwork, you should share knowledge, skills, and time. It should result in a better product than one individual produces. But at college, students have different habits, work ethics and ideas about the project. It isn’t easy because some students are lazy and let the other students do all the work.
Work ethics are a person’s set of values that guide how s/he behaves in a work situation. Tey can include beliefs about being reliable, doing their share of the work, having a positive attitude to work and encouraging others.
To listen actively, you focus on the other person, on what s/he is saying with her/his voice and body. Show that you are interested through your body language. Do not think of your reply while someone is still talking.
If the group fails to agree upon an overall outcome, it could cause the project to fail. Similarly, if the group cannot plan a workable task analysis, it could cause the project to fail.

Group work has the advantage of sharing knowledge, skills and information from everyone in the group. Te result should be a better product than what one person could have produced alone. But there are disadvantages because group projects can go very wrong. People have different work ethics and ideas about the work. Some people are lazy and leave all the work to others.
Tis is a clear information text. It has a title at the top in large font and headings, also in bold, but smaller. Points are numbered. Bullets are also used. It is divided into an introduction and a body consisting of several paragraphs. However, it does not have a clear conclusion.
To listen actively, look at the other person and do not let yourself be distracted by, for example, an SMS. Your body language – e.g. leaning towards the speaker – will make you look interested. Listen to what s/he is saying and ask questions to show you are involved. Also make encouraging sounds like “Uh-huh.” Watch her/his body language for extra messages. Don’t just sit and think of your reply.
Effective teamwork means that the group works together and achieves more than they would as individuals. Tey decide together on an overall outcome for the project. Together they agree on a task analysis. Each member plays her/his role in the group and does her/his own tasks. Group communication is effective.
Tis statement is justified because group work achieves far more than working alone. Groups share knowledge, skills and time, and the outcome is better than an individual’s. In addition, group work teaches students how to work effectively in teams for the workplace.

Yes, I agree that it is good for students to do group projects. In a group, students share knowledge, skills, and time. Tey can achieve more in a group than working alone. It is not always easy but it teaches students how to work in teams which is essential both at college and in the workplace.
Te first guideline is that the group must meet and agree upon an outcome. Secondly, a group must decide on a specific role for each member of the group, which they do in addition to their own tasks. Tese roles are the leader, recorder, timekeeper and co-ordinator. Te group must also agree on individual tasks and due dates. Tis task analysis includes answering three questions for each task: what?, who? and when? Finally, effective groups plan meeting dates and make sure every member writes the dates down.
