It was shortly aſter 23:00 on 21 February 20.. and the kitchen was closing aſter a busy night. You were packing away the newly washed plates. Sharifa Abrahams, a kitchen assistant, picked up a pan with hot oil in to move it to the sink. As she passed the fryer, her feet slipped on a grease splatter on the floor and she fell, spilling the hot oil over her leſt arm. She screamed in shock and pain.
Te head chef, Andile Maki, rushed to help her up and took her to the sink. He turned on the cold tap and held her arm under it. You called the manager, who said he would drive Sharifa to City Hospital. You then helped Sharifa take off her apron, fetched her bag and helped her to the car. By this time her arm was blistering badly. Dr. Patel saw Sharifa at 00:15 and diagnosed a second-degree burn. She cleaned and dressed the burn and gave Sharifa pain killers. Dr. Patel booked Sharifa off from work until 24 February, when Sharifa must go back to hospital for a check-up and have the dressing changed.
