Body language Stand up straight, head held high and notes in one hand. Use some hand gestures to emphasise what you are saying. Avoid too many gestures and nervous gestures. Start with a friendly smile.
Eye contact Make eye contact with an individual in the audience and hold it for about 4 seconds before moving on to another person. Try to make contact with someone in the front, then someone in each corner of the classroom, towards the back, and to the middle, etc.
Project voice
Speak loudly, clearly and slowly. You do this by breathing deeply, pronouncing the sounds of the words clearly and opening your mouth fairly wide when talking. Use the power of the pause. Stress important words.
Enthusiasm Make your tone of voice natural and friendly but also enthusiastic and friendly. Talk with interest and energy about your subject. Use your face to give the feeling that you are saying something important and something you really want the audience to understand.
