Get to Know a Guy by Knowing the Box Score S

triking up a conversation with a stranger can be nerve-racking, but there’s even more pressure when talking to a date. What can ladies say? How should they get to know someone without launching into a full-fledged interrogation? Try talking about sports.

Jen Mueller says talking sports on a date is a great way to break the ice.

“You’d be amazed at the insight you get when talking about a team or a game,” says Jen Mueller, CEO of Talk Sporty to Me. “Ask about the team he or she watched growing up. Then ask them to describe what it was like going to a game. You’ll easily be able to figure out what part of the country they’re from and get a glimpse of

their family and home life.”

That’s just one of the tips Mueller gives women during her “Talk Sporty to Me: The Key to a Good Date for all the Single Ladies” presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 6:30-8 p.m. In addition, women learn how to bridge the gender gap, avoid common communi- cation pitfalls when

talking to men, and gracefully exit an awkward conversation.

Jen knows all the secrets to good conver- sations. She’s America’s Expert Talker, not to mention a sports reporter for Root Sports

Northwest in Seattle, and the Seattle Seahawks radio side- line reporter.

She’ll help members develop a step-by-step conversation plan based on her experiences in professional locker rooms and clubhouses, and explain how to talk sporty in just five minutes a day. Good conversations allow individuals to get to know his or her date, cultivate common interests and increase the likeli- hood of future dates.

The cost for this workshop is $15 for members and $18 for guests. It is for all ages. For more informa- tion or to register, call Member Services at 503-517-7265 or go to theMAC.com. Quick Register ME328 WM
