Price bandL · Sleeps 4 + cot · Children welcome 3 Glendale Cottages is a delightful holiday cottage tucked away in the glorious village of Dittisham, 50 yards walk from the Quay. This cottage has been completely renovated and refurbished to an extremely high contemporary spec (pictures cataloguing the extensive work are in the cottage for your perusal). Retaining many of its original features adds to the charm and cosy ambience while the rooms have plenty of natural light giving it a lovely spacious feeling and there are views of the river.
Accommodation: Glendale is approached by a small footpath just off Manor Street and you enter the cottage through the front door which leads into an open plan lounge, kitchen/diner. The living area is to the left as you
walk in and is furnished with maximum comfort in mind, two leather sofas, slate flooring, inglenook fireplace with woodburner, LCD TV with intergrated DVD, stereo with CD/DAB radio/cassette, and wonderful lighting to enhance the mood of the moment. The solid oak kitchen with granite worktops is fitted with an electic cooker, microwave, halogen hob, washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge with ice box and plenty of storage and equipment. Bespoke dining table and chairs are uniquely incorporated at the end of the work top. Enjoy underfloor heating on the ground floor and full central heating throughout the cottage. Stairs lead up from a corner of the room onto the landing, ahead is the master bedroom with oak double bed, bedside drawers, chest of drawers, beautiful White Company bed linen and towels, and a view of the river. The second bedroom has two oak 3’ divans, hanging space and chest of drawers, once again with White Company bed linen. The bathroom, has a double walk in shower, bath, toilet, basin and heated towel rail, also fitted out to a very high standard with comfort and relaxation in mind. Outside of the cottage across the little footpath is a lovely paved patio with table and chairs, a perfect suntrap for you to relax and enjoy alfresco dining.
A grade II listed detached thatched cottage in Lower Street, Dittisham's oldest road leading to Dittisham Mill Creek. Originally three cottages, carefully restored and extended, yet retaining it’s old character including the inglenook fireplaces and old beams; and now is a substantial four bedroomed house, which is surprisingly light for this type of house.
Accommodation: From a private paved path the front door opens into a large open plan flag stoned area
comprising the hall and kitchen, leading to a utility room with full washing and drying facilities, WC and shower, fridge/freezer (there is extra freezer space outside). The kitchen seats eight and has been beautifully equipped and featuring a Sandiford cooking range (similar to an Aga), dishwasher, microwave and fridge. A few steps lead down to the drawing room with polished wooden floors and two inglenook fireplaces, one with wood burning stove. The room has some fine antique pieces as well as TV and DVD/video and stereo system. Curved wooden stairs lead from the drawing room to the first floor with a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, shower room with WC and basin.
A small flight of steps leads down to another double bedroom with en suite bathroom (with bath, WC and basin), French windows onto the garden and a view to the river. In the eaves on the second floor is a large twin bedded room with river view and en suite bathroom (bath, WC and basin). Outside a patio surrounds the house and is in the sun all day. The garden is a delight and rises in a series of terraces and has wonderful views of the river. Teak garden furniture and BBQ for those al fresco evenings.
