FRANCHISEFOCUS IN V ESTMENT: FROM £ 170,000 Still on top Anytime Fitness' franchise model continues to thrive F
or the 12th year in a row, Anytime Fitness, the world’s largest and fastest-growing fitness club chain, has been honoured by US magazine, Entrepreneur, as the number-one fitness franchise in the Top Global Franchises section. Averaging more than 300 new gyms each year for more than a decade, Anytime Fitness recently expanded to Colombia, Indonesia, Morocco and even an expedition ship in Antarctica. This acknowledgment comes at a time when the UK fitness industry has gone from strength to strength. According to the 2019 State of the UK Fitness Industry Report, the market value of the health and fitness sector has increased to over £5billion and membership has exceeded 10 million. Market penetration is also at an all-time high of 15.6 per cent, meaning that one in every seven people in the UK is now a gym member.
"Anytime Fitness is a globally recognisable brand with personality at its heart"
While the demand for fitness
franchisees remains strong, becoming a successful franchise owner relies heavily on finding a franchise model that is not only attractive, but works for you. CEO Stuart Broster says: “The Anytime Fitness franchise model is a much more reliable and lower-risk investment option than other franchises, as the fitness industry displays sustainable growth and has proven to be robust, even in a time of recession. The fact that Anytime Fitness is the fastest-growing franchise in the world, and has now been ranked the number one fitness franchise for nine consecutive years by Entrepreneur magazine, speaks volumes about the potential benefits of investing. “We feel that the overall proposition
offered by Anytime Fitness is unique in the fitness industry. As well as having a reputable brand name behind you, we offer an attractive, fixed franchise fee, expert support, innovation and a business model that works, time and time again.” Anytime Fitness has also introduced additional products to engage its members, including Anytime Prime, a bespoke membership tailored to the over-55s, and Anytime Coaching, an app-based personal training solution to provide remote support and advice to members when they’re away from a club. All are designed so that franchisees have the opportunity to provide more bespoke offerings to their members and increase the amount of member touchpoints. Keeping and engaging with current members is an important objective for Anytime Fitness, and franchisees are encouraged to adopt these new products and offer them to their members.
Joining the Anytime Fitness family With more than 165 clubs now open in the UK, Anytime Fitness is staying true to form as the fastest-growing franchise in the world (IHRSA). The brand has seen substantial global growth over the past 17 years and now
