Business Partnership


Since October 2000 Greg Towers has been a Business Partnership franchisee covering South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire. Greg is married to Beverley who works alongside him in the business.


What drew you to this opportunity? I had often thought about becoming my own boss but I'd never hit on that one golden idea that I could run with. The benefits of being in Business Partnership are the flexibility, excellent income potential and the opportunity to manage your own business without any undue influence. As long as you are operating legally, ethically and responsibly, you are allowed the space to grow and thrive.


How was business to begin with? Once I had undergone the initial training, I was out valuing businesses immediately and took my first instruction in my first week. It took me about eight months to get my territory up and running and established in the area. Beverley joined me after a couple of years and we are now equal partners in the business.


What is the ongoing support like? The support network is excellent –


twice-yearly meetings for all franchisees, plus support is readily available year round. The senior partners are always there if you need help and if there are any urgent changes in legislation, or our systems, webinars are used for additional training.


Describe a typical day We sell every type of business from small retail outfits, such as sandwich shops, cafés, gift shops and hair salons, right up to larger concerns worth £1million or more. That makes for interesting days and a variety of work! I can be at a business premises in the morning confirming a valuation and negotiating terms on a deal in the afternoon whilst Beverley is responding to enquiries coming in for our current business sales and updating changes to advertising. The best part of the business has to be completing on a sale, not only because we get paid, but because you’ve helped your client achieve their goal too.
