IN THE LIFE Dreams to reality

Insights into a typical working day of a Guinot Fra nchise salon owner

"F 90

irst, a mug of coffee, a determined glance at the computer, a deep breath and a fi nal moment of silence to myself before the day begins… I scroll through today’s list

of clients, scan round the salon to ensure all is just- so and remind myself of the targets set for the day before the salon doors are opened… My brain is in gear and a buzz of caffeine

and love for what I do kicks in. I’m always ready to take my business to the next level and today is no exception. Another day to make my dreams become reality with new goals and new opportunities. My industry knowledge and experience along

with expert training and a professional working environment gives me the confi dence to make each day even greater than the one before. My trusty ops manual directs me on how to handle the challenges, the toolkit supports the new and exciting promotions and the implementation guides are on-hand to ensure my long-term objectives are achieved. The energy of a full salon is contagious and the

daily rewards are special and unique. Providing a service that facilitates someone feeling good inside and out is a powerful thing. Each client is different

and each treatment requires my personalised approach. Having to adapt and perform varied treatments throughout the day keeps things interesting and dynamic; from facials to manicures or waxing to massages there is never a dull moment and my end goal remains the same, to make every client feel and look good. As the day draws to a close, therapists fl oat from room to room, sweeping fl oors, sterilising tools, folding towels and cleaning every surface of the salon. My salon manager clicks away at the computer, printing reports, counting cash, fi ling consultation cards and assessing the success of the day. I settle down to set new goals, analyse learnings and benchmark our results… ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Business is business, the highs, the lows and the eight hours in between (sometimes longer in a Guinot franchise salon), it can be exhilarating, challenging and even lonely... but not now that I'm in the Guinot network. My fellow like-minded, success- hungry franchisees are only a phone call away to offer the support and reassurance I sometimes need. All our successes and challenges are shared and business is better than ever because I am part of something bigger." l
