PACK & SEND has safely delivered customers' items around the world since 1993 and here explains the appeal of the business...

Why is PACK & SEND unique? Our comprehensive range of professional packing services, combined with our broad range of worldwide transport solutions managed through our network of local service centres, means we can safely deliver anything, anywhere – no matter the challenges the item may present! No other major shipper provides such a bespoke end-to-end service.

"Enjoy the freedom and flexibility that being your own boss brings"

What does PACK & SEND handle? Our fl exibility means we can ship virtually anything but we are especially well suited to shipments where goods are fragile, large, awkward or valuable, such as artwork, antiques, IT equipment, laboratory or medical kit, musical instruments and vintage car parts. We also service tourists sending things home, student moves or personal shipments around the world.

What are the revenue opportunities? Franchisees have several revenue opportunities in the business: Ÿ Packing services: either as preparation for a shipment or simply to return to the customer once packed

What role does the franchisor head offi ce play? For new franchisees our role is training, coaching and launch support – eg all new centres receive guaranteed enquiries, marketing funding options and have a PACK & SEND expert onsite for the fi rst month of trading.

On an ongoing basis, the HQ team manage the infrastructure of the business model, including supplier negotiation and management, brand/central marketing, performance benchmarking, systems management, communications and operational support. Our fi eld team also make regular

Ÿ Shipping/freight: using our wide range of freight services to design the optimum shipping solution for the customer

Ÿ Warranty: providing unlimited value cover for loss or damage of any item, giving the ultimate peace of mind

Ÿ Other services: franchisees may offer related services, such as storage, art installation or return shipping

What is a franchisee responsible for? PACK & SEND service centre owners (and their teams) handle the day-to-day operation of the business – packing goods, preparing shipping documentation, consignment of shipments, delivery tracking and the arrangement of local collections with their vehicle. There is also payment reconciliation, invoicing, supplier administration and business accounting to be managed. Most franchisees, however, have others handling the operational aspects and focus their time on dealing with customers. Whether that's site visits, discussing and negotiating sales or concluding the transactions, the franchisee is expected to lead on sales and local marketing for their PACK & SEND business.

centre visits and we hold a conference each year.

What is the commitment for a PACK & SEND franchisee? A PACK & SEND franchise is a full-time commitment. Our licence term is 10 years and our service centres must open 8.30 to 5.30 during Monday to Friday. Franchisees will be investing at least £100,000, including working capital, and will usually be signing a lengthy lease on the service centre. They will also recruit and manage staff.

And the rewards? These are up to you as a franchisee. There is no upper limit to the maximum earnings from a PACK & SEND service centre, as there is little competition and margins, and average transaction values are market leading. However, many franchisees also enjoy the freedom and fl exibility that being their own boss brings combined with the security and support of being part of a franchise network. l
