diff erentiation between vapers, Vapestore (a sister company of The Vapouriz Group) caters for those wishing to chase the clouds in a new trend of sub-ohm devices and high-vegetable glycerin liquids, and those wishing to kick the habit of tobacco smoking once and for all. With so much on off er, Vapestore off ers a bespoke business off er to those wishing to expand or take part in owning their own vaping franchise. Dorking franchise owner Barbara Chamberlain discusses why she decided to shut up shop as a clothing boutique and venture into the world of vaping.


What attracted you to franchising with Vapestore? We were attracted to franchising with Vapestore for a couple of reasons, the fi rst being that we were quite unfamiliar with the world of vaping, so it was the expertise that we were after – Vapestore promised and delivered on that. It very quickly became apparent that they are a professional organisation, and the support and backup we received when opening our store was second to none. Secondly, because we wanted to do something completely diff erent to anything we’d done before, this gave us a chance to explore that further.


What was it that initially drew you to the vaping industry? After doing a lot of our research, we realised that this industry is growing extremely quickly, with new products and liquids being introduced almost daily; with this there’s huge potential for individual business growth. This, along with Vapestore’s 100 per cent success rate, attracted us to this new business venture.


Describe the support you’ve received. I’ve enjoyed working with every single

person at Vapestore. The entire experience has been extremely positive, and they couldn’t do enough to make sure we were ready for our grand opening at the beginning of March. The training they provided in the run up and post-opening has been exceptional; we feel confi dent moving forward that we’ve made the right decision and look forward to the next fi ve years.


Would you consider opening another Vapestore franchise? We’ve opened the fi rst of what will hopefully be one of many franchise shops with Vapestore, and we’re already considering opening our second store. We’ve managed to break even just two months after opening in early March 2017, and we expect to see a return on investment over the next 12 months. There are no other vape shops in Dorking, and the feedback we’ve had from customers has been extremely positive. We’re currently looking at another location, and would defi nitely open another franchise.

What do you enjoy most about running your franchise? Building customer relationships, and seeing someone come into store looking for guidance from us and help with our products; our customers are at the heart of what we do, so I enjoy meeting people from diff erent backgrounds with diff erent requirements, whether that’s the increasingly popular world of sub-ohm or one of our Fuse starter kits. I get huge satisfaction from being able to help them and see them return to let us know that we’ve made a real diff erence to their lives. It’s also great to see a quick return on our investment in an ever-growing industry.
