Kare Plus expands into Ireland
n Kare Plus has announced it is launching 12 new franchise opportunities throughout Ireland, the company’s fi rst in the country. Established in 1989, the healthcare franchise currently has over 75 branches across England and Wales. It delivers a wide range of services, including specialist and non-specialist nursing, healthcare recruitment, supported living services, critical care services and homecare. Director of operations Dominic Rothwell says: “In recent years, we have experienced very strong growth in the UK, with numerous new franchise owners
joining the network, development of our service range and growth of individual businesses.
“This has allowed us to consolidate our operations, further establish the brand and, as a result, introduce the model to our neighbouring countries that are experiencing similar industry stresses to the UK, which the Kare Plus model can help them overcome.”
New franchise owners begin with an intensive week-long training programme incorporating all aspects of running a Kare Plus business, including recruitment, sales, marketing, compliance, IT, research and
development, as well as an introduction to the award-winning Kare Plus support team and their dedicated business development manager.

Comment Is fi nding the right territory important?
It is vital to consider the territory in which you will operate your business before making the decision to invest in a particular franchise. Not only this, but it is critical to consider how it will work for you in practice, operationally speaking. Some franchisors only sell exclusive territories, which can restrict the expansion of your franchise and can also be expensive. You should certainly bear this in mind when considering which franchise is for you. It may be that you go into franchising to reduce travel time and so you desire a specifi c territory. It is worth bearing in mind, however, that some franchisors provide you with that, plus the opportunity to spread your wings further afi eld. This can really aid your development as a franchisee in the years to come.
It is also very important to consider how the custom will come to you. Your main concern, initially, will be getting to grips with the business and building relationships with customers. As such, you may well want to consider a franchise where the business is found for you, commensurate to your level of investment. This will enable you to focus your energy on the management of the business, while the franchisor populates your territory to create a business that is bespoke for you. Ultimately, it is always best to investigate all your options and opportunities, and make sure that you choose the right one for you. In this regard, the territories off ered by franchisors, and the methods of fi nding business within those territories, are very important considerations.
