n December 2016, husband-and-wife team Francis and Emma Buchanan decided to investigate franchising. With Francis having worked at a large delivery franchise, they knew
what the benefi ts of running your own business could be, especially under an established brand. They eventually approached HomeXperts for more details. Emma says: “From the outset, we found HomeXperts open, honest and professional. The business has a proven strategy, which provides the structure and support we need to be successful.” Shortly after, Francis and Emma took the plunge and joined HomeXperts as Aylesbury’s newest estate and letting agents. Francis attended the two-week intensive training academy in January 2017 and Emma soon followed. They were both trained to Propertymark standards and were accredited by the National Association of Estate Agents, and the Association of Residential Letting Agents. They launched their franchise business the following month.
The launch party and networking event, which is provided in the HomeXperts package, was attended by the mayor of Aylesbury, and the couple quickly made a name for themselves as trusted agents in the area. HomeXperts Aylesbury went on to sign 21 properties in the fi rst fi ve months of trading, with 17 prospective tenants on the books.
The couple say: “We have really enjoyed the new challenge of running our own business. We’ve put lots of eff ort into building relationships with the people in our area through networking, and it’s paying off . “We conduct our business with the customer at the centre of everything we do. We’ve followed the business model and taken on everything we learned at the training academy. This is just the start of our journey but we have big plans for the future!”
