INSPIRATION
27
Place the wired tip on top of the previous made ring. Sew the two pieces together, using the same stitch as in Step 23. Make sure to pull the thread tightly after every stitch.
28
Measure the inside of the shape and cut a piece of cord for a sash window (sisal rope) with the same length.
29
Put UHU around the inside of the shape and glue the rope into it. Use pegs to hold the rope in place.
Tip!
Adding a rope will make it easier to pin material to the block.
You can add an extra rope
around the tip on the inside to avoid a dip in the tip when using the block.
30
For the tip you draw around the outside of the shape on a single layer of buckram and add a 2.5 cm hem to it.
31
Cut the shape and wet it under a running tap. Roll it up and leave it until it gets tacky.
32
Measure and cut a buckram strip of 47 x 11 cm. This strip is going to be wrapped around the block.
33
The strip is slightly shorter and a bit wider than the block, because it will be pulled and therefore stretch and get more narrow.
34
Make the strip wet under a running tap, roll it up and wait until it gets tacky.

35
Take the pegs off the shape. Check whether the tip of the shape doesn’t have a dip. If so, push it out with your fist.
36
Pin one of the ends of the wet strip over the side of the shape, 1 cm below the tip. Wrap the strip around the block, leaving enough material to fold over the rope at the bottom side.
