A MINI MIC WITH A BIG SOUND DPA
BY KEVIN EMMOTT
The 2061 miniature omnidirectional microphone is being unveiled at IBC. Boasting a durable and rugged enclosure, the 2061 borrows design elements and principles from other DPA lavaliers and features a completely new, simplifi ed 5mm capsule construction that targets performance in the 8Hz-16kHz frequency range with 128dB peak SPL. With an omnidirectional pickup pattern, this pre-polarised condenser microphone is designed to accurately capture the human voice with minimal colouration and a high level of fi delity and intelligibility, from any direction. The 2061 has a fl at
frequency curve with a soft
3dB boost and is not pre-tailored to compensate for any specifi c position in which a lavalier is commonly placed, allowing sound engineers to capture authentic sound from any arrangement. The 2061 features a 1.5m Kevlar
reinforced cable, long and fl exible strain relief for resilience against physical stress, advanced sweat- repelling capabilities and IP57 certifi cation for exposure to water, dust and makeup. 8.C42

Leveraging the power of generative AI models, the application is the fi rst AI production software focused on creating scripts for commercials, with subsequent conversion of the ‘spec ad’ text to human-sounding speech. SPECai’s workfl ow delivers multiple script options for each spot and provides account managers with all the essential creative tools to build out professional sounding spec ads, including an array of male

and female voice options, voice tones and an integrated music bed library. Its AI-driven workfl ow also means that clients can approve ads in the moment. SPECai’s front-end interface is accessible on any web browser or mobile device, and since the application lives in the cloud, account managers can bring its creative ability directly to the client and actively involve them in the creative process. 8.C76
