With its real-time transcription now running at less than one second latency, Speechmatics’ real-time speech-to-text system has been enhanced for IBC. Claiming to be the only automatic speech recognition (ASR) technology provider to offer performance at this speed, the company says it has coupled its fundamental machine learning research with state-of-the- art software engineering and orchestration to deliver fi nal, accurate transcriptions with under a second of latency. Moreover, it says that indicative interim results are returned even faster for applications outside captioning, where returning initial predictions with the minimum possible delay is helpful. The new Cavix Leopard tripod is a lightweight, quick-to-assemble model, with a single release controlling the main lock so the legs can be fully extended in just one second. It has a 360º rotating head and panoramic clamp with lever locker, which can carry a payload of up to 8kg. The three-stage tripod itself can support up to 60kg, with legs made from 12 layers of carbon fi bre. The tripod weighs 1.47kg. The Leopard rises to 1.5m in height with the centre column extended, and has a minimum height of 130mm with the centre column removed. When folded


for transport the tripod is just 505mm long.


The head has a one-button


release for the QR plate and can be quickly switched between horizontal and vertical shooting. It can also be rapidly set up with two QR plates for use with two cameras shooting together. The Leopard comes in black, blue or orange (with matching heads) and with a waterproof carry bag. 12.B30h
