Symrise introduces high-power organic crystalline UVB filter
Symrise has launched Neo Heliopan 310, said to be a powerful UVB filter with an excellent solubilization profile. The German maker says the new product is
highly compatible with other cosmetic ingredients, thus helping customers achieve high sun protection factors (SPF) in a range of applications. This includes sunscreen, anti-ageing, and anti-
wrinkle products, serums, and lotions. Also, the UVB filter is approved for use at up to 10% in sun care and skin care products in the EU, Mercosur, ASEAN, and China. The organic crystalline UVB filter Neo Heliopan 310 (INCI: Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone) is said to come with superior absorption capacity. It reaches an absorption peak of 310 nm due
to its three chromophore groups. As one of the most photostable UVB filters on the market it also offers a very good safety profile and provides photoageing prevention properties.
Mibelle makes bed of
roses for skin care Mibelle Biochemistry has launched LunaRose, a overnight skin rejuvenation active ingredient derived from the organic rose hips of a unique Finnish rose variety. Inspired by Finland’s extraordinary day-night
cycles, LunaRose works by delivering melatonin- like effects, delivering a range of powerful benefits for the skin. It upregulates melatonin receptor expression and modulates the expression of circadian clock genes, helping to support the skin’s natural day- night rhythm. Additionally, LunaRose provides strong
antioxidant protection and strengthens the skin barrier, shielding it from environmental stressors. It also enhances mitochondrial function, which naturally declines with age, ensuring the skin remains energized and resilient. “This combination of effects helps to restore
the skin’s natural balance, leaving it rejuvenated, revitalized, and full of energy—overnight,” said a spokeswoman. Claimed benefits of LunaRose include well-
rested and regenerated skin; reduction of sleep wrinkles after just one application; improved radiance and glow; melatonin-like effect; and improved mitochondrial function.
Its reliable performance and its excellent
solubility make it ideal for water-resistant sunscreens and water-free formulations as well as typical emulsions. “Sun protection becomes increasingly
important for consumers around the world,” said Julio Bombonati, Global Category Director Sun Protection at Symrise. “At Symrise Cosmetic Ingredients, we
strive for continuously enhancing our UV filter portfolio with solutions like Neo Heliopan 310,” he added. “Our product is giving answers to regulatory requirements known from
traditional UV filters and it also provides strong UV protection and photoageing prevention. Thus, our offering fulfils the needs of customers and consumers alike.” In a related development, Symrise has taken
the wraps off SymLash Xtreme, an ingredient scientifically proven to significantly enhance eyelash density with visible results in two weeks. SymLash XTreme combines a lipopeptide
with the well-known blood microcirculation agent troxerutin.
