In the wake of a particularly favourable sporting calendar with the Euro football tournament and the Paris Olympics, the French online market had a record year with a GGR of €2.6bn, up 12 per cent compared to 2023. Spearheading this growth, online sports betting

recorded a GGR of nearly €1.8bn, up 19 per cent compared to 2023. With a market share of more than 12 per cent of the total gambling market, online sports betting is the second largest

saying he did not know his partners. He lied three or four times, and we gave him the chance, repeating questions. Nobody forms a partnership with someone they do not know. He committed to [as a witness] telling the truth about what would not incriminate him. But he also cannot omit known issues. “What we cannot allow is this disrespect

Te news agency has spoken to four sources close to the deal, saying that the exhibition and events company has been marketed to potential suitors, including CVC, KKR, PAI Partners, Ardian, and Hillhouse Investment. and establishing its own operational rules. It can approve new forms of gambling, develop Terms of Reference for tenders, and award licences based on specific technical requirements. Additionally, Conajzar can request assistance

from the DNIT for oversight tasks, impose penalties, resolve appeals from operators, and carry out other functions as mandated by law. However, the approval of the Executive Power is required for the awarding of national gambling licences.

Another key feature of the decree is the

implementing the regulatory framework governing gambling activities in the country. Conajzar will have several key powers,

including authorising the operation of gambling activities, issuing regulations at various levels,

contributor to the market’s growth, accounting for 43 per cent of it. Online horse betting, for its part, is up slightly by nearly one per cent and poker has posted a decline in its GGR of two per cent, after growing continuously between 2021 and 2023. While the market shows no signs of slowing

down, 2025 is shaping up to be a risky year from the point of view of the intensification of gaming practices that could result from maintaining high advertising pressure and the continuation of cross- selling actions on newly acquired players. In addition, the renewed competitive tensions between the major operators that dominate the

establishment of the General Directorate of Gambling, which will serve as a technical body tasked with implementing and enforcing policies, regulations, and controls for the operation of regulated gambling activities.

market tend to accentuate these risks by increasing the demands of players. Changes to the taxation of gambling decided as

part of the PLFSS, which will come into force on 1 July, could have an impact on the online market’s activity . In particular, a new tax of 15 per cent of the commercial communications expenses of online sports betting operators will have an impact on the real amount of investments made in the second half of the year. In addition, the opening of the monetisable digital object (JONUM) games market will have to be followed, an experiment that’s expected to begin in September.
