ONLINE GAMING CONTINUES TO GROW
Latest figures show that the French online gaming market has continued to grow significantly in the last 12 months. Te gross gaming revenue of the licensed online gaming market increased by 28 per cent to €346m for the third quarter of 2019. According to the quarterly analysis of regulation of online games, GGR increased 44 per cent to €214m, corresponding to 62 per cent of the turnover across the entire online gaming market. Betting on horse racing grew by five per cent to €66m, whilst the poker market increased 11 per cent.

A NEW STATE REGULATOR IN 2020 From January, the L’autorité nationale des jeux
(ANJ) will act as a single body overseeing gambling in France, including online gambling, which is currently regulated by l’autorité
nationale de régulation des jeux en ligne (ARJEL). Te ANJ will also monitor casinos, horse racing in Paris and lottery games, which are currently regulated by the Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of the Economy and Finance. Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin, who was the head of the National Commission for Computing and Liberties (CNIL) until last January, will take the lead for the new regulator.
