NEPAL – Delta Corp has now received a license for operating a casino at the Marriot Hotel in Nepal and will start operations soon.
Dilip Vaidya, General Manage of Delta Corp, said: "With reference to the company entering into a Memorandum of Understanding for leasing space at the five star Marriot Hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal to operate a casino, we would like to inform you that our subsidiary in Nepal has been issued a license for operating a Casino in Nepal. The operations of the casino at the Marriot Hotel in Kathmandu are expected to commence soon."
In Goa, Delta Corp owns the Deltin Suites, a 106 room hotel with a casino. It also operates Casino Deltin Denzong located at the Denzong Regency hotel in Gangtok, in Sikkim and The Deltin, a 176 room five-star hotel in Daman, which is an integrated resort with a proposed casino. It is the only listed company engaged in the casino (live, electronic and online) gaming industry in India.

The chance to operate at the Marriot follows a deal with Everest Hospitality and Hotel Pvt Ltd, to rent space at the hotel in Kathmandu, which opened in July last year.
CHINA – Asia Pioneer Entertainment (APE) has installed the fourth and fifth units of Konami’s Fortune Cup into Macau casinos, including in the new ETG zone of Melco’s Studio City.

Cambodia Striking workers return to NagaWorld
Tousands of striking Cambodian workers of NagaWorld returned to their jobs on January 11, but the circumstances surrounding their return have been refuted by the operator. It had been claimed that striking workers had won wage increases in a rare victory for employees.
About 3,000 workers had joined the strike in front of the NagaWorld hotel and casino complex, owned by Nagacorp Ltd, in Phnom Penh to demand higher wages. A deal was allegedly struck with NagaWorld to raise workers' salaries between 18 and 30 per cent. Workers currently get paid between US$150 to $250 a month.
