US sports-betting: Winning in the land of opportunity

THE US SPORTS BETTING MARKET

Nick Nally, Chief Development Officer

New Jersey was the first significant US state to go live back in 2013. Given the number of licensed casinos and the number of skins per casino, it created a significant market opportunity for suppliers and we found many of our existing customers working with the land-based casinos to bring new online offerings to the market. P80 NEWSWIRE / INTERACTIVE / MARKET DATA

When it comes to the US sports-betting market it is early days but things are happening at a fast pace. How does Continent 8 help its already existing customers in the US? How and in what ways does Continent 8 plan to help other companies successfully enter the US marketplace?

Continent 8 has been working in the US market for many years, but opened its first data centre offering in 2014 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Since that time, we have worked extensively with various groups including public affairs advisors, policy makers, customers and the DGE (Division of Gaming Enforcement) to help shape regulations around hosting of services in the market.

Te New Jersey market is significant and an ideal market from which platform providers and operators can both launch and learn from when it comes to their US strategy. Due to population size and the range of online gambling products, New Jersey was the first significant US state to go live back in 2013. Given the number of licensed casinos and the number of skins per casino, it created a significant market opportunity for suppliers and we found many of our existing customers working with the land-based casinos to bring new online offerings to the market.
