US – Luxury gaming manufacturer Interblock has announced a raft of appointments in the last month. The first sees gaming expert Mario DiGuiseppe join the company as Gaming Operations Manager in North America. In his role he will add to the company’s Gaming Operations department supporting the mid-west region of the country by serving as a liaison between customers and all departments within Interblock from R&D to Sales.
The second appointment, again in the US is Kevin Parker, who is now Gaming Operations Manager in North America. In his role he will support the western region of the country by working closely with Interblock’s R&D department, internal sales team, product compliance and operations teams, upper management, and customers.
Interblock also confirmed the appointment of Paul Paradoski as Director of Sales. With a base in Missouri, Paul is responsible for overseeing sales operations and management for the central United States operators. And finally, long-time gaming industry veteran Mark Wiedemer is joining the company to lead its corporate initiatives in the United States as Vice President of Sales, Strategic Accounts.
Mr. Wiedemer brings 26 years of experience in positions of significant scope and responsibility with global industry leaders IGT, Scientific Games, Bally Technologies, and Konami Gaming.
US – Golden Race has become an Associate Member of the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).

Empire and an affiliate of bet365, the world’s largest online sports bookmaker, entered into a 20-year agreement to offer retail sports betting, an online sportsbook and online gaming at Resorts World Catskills if and when permitted by applicable law. Under the Sports Wagering Agreement, Empire and bet365 will establish New York’s premier sports betting and online gaming option. Tis agreement provides for the companies to share profits 50/50 after bet365 recoups its start-up and other costs.
In connection with the Sports Wagering Agreement, an affiliate of bet365 will acquire up to $50 million of Empire common stock at a price of $20 per share in two tranches, making it Empire’s second largest stockholder. Additionally, Kien Huat Realty III, Ltd., Empire’s largest stockholder, has committed to purchase up to $126 million of convertible preferred stock, with a conversion price of $20 per share. Te investment by bet365 and the commitment by Kien Huat strengthens Empire’s financial position and underscores Kien Huat’s view of the potential for value creation in Empire’s Resorts World Catskills.

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City announced today plans for a $56m guest room and suite renovation in its Coastal Tower, featuring 507 finely-appointed guest-rooms & suites, to be completed in its entirety by summer 2019.

Te alliance provides bet365 access to the New York State sports wagering market, which, according to market estimates is expected to be the single largest market jurisdiction for sports betting in the United States other than California, with projections for more than $1bn in annual revenues from sports betting within five years of legalisation.

Wynn Resorts has axed plans to develop Phase 2 of its planned Paradise Park which would have seen its 18-hole golf course replaced by a huge lagoon the size of almost 100 Olympic swimming pools at its Wynn and Encore casino-resorts on the Strip. CEO Matt Maddox said: “Tat project was over $3bn and we always struggled with Phase 2 of Paradise Park. How are we going to make a room tower in a town with a lot of rooms along with a lagoon? We weren’t really interested in building a large public swimming pool for the Las Vegas Strip. So we just decided, let’s go with Phase 1. We know the convention center is going to work. It’s what Wynn Las Vegas needs. We purchased a far superior site, 38 acres of land on the Strip, to the off-Strip location of the golf course.”
