New Jersey's online and retail sportsbooks set a new high in October while blowing past the $500m mark in wagers since sports betting was legalised in June. Tis as the early winners of the fledgling industry continue to make gains, according to analysts for
PlayNJ.com.
"Two full months of the football season is showing us how the market is beginning to mature," said Dustin Gouker, lead sports betting analyst for
PlayNJ.com. "FanDuel Sportsbook is dominating the retail market and DraftKings continues to be the strength of the online market. In addition, we continue to see locals flock to online sportsbooks."
New Jersey's sportsbooks accepted $260.7m in October wagers and generated $11.7m in gross revenue, according to Tursday's official reporting. Online sportsbooks accounted for 67 percent total bets in October.

British Columbia Lottery Corp has approved a new gambling and entertainment facility in the City of Delta in British Columbia in Canada.
Cascades Casino Delta, operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited, will include a hotel, restaurants, meeting space and a casino with approximately 500 slot machines, 24 table games and up to 6 electronic table games.
BCLC’s approval follows extensive reviews of the market opportunity, business case, health impacts and municipal approval process to ensure that the project meets legislated requirements under the Gaming Control Act.

In May 2018, the City of Delta provided its final approval of the proposed casino.
Construction of the facility at the Delta Town & Country Inn site will begin in early 2019, with the casino expected to open mid-2020.
