Historically, we have built several casinos with one slot machine supplier, but we are reconsidering this approach in the future. We have many more players visiting the casinos in Monaco with different tastes. At the recent G2E show in Las Vegas, I spoke with suppliers and explained this “one casino three floors concept,” which should focus upon matching machines to the clients on the different floors of the casino. Our studies have shown that tourists do not visit the Casino Cafe de Paris to play at the slots or tables. Instead they like to visit the Casino de

September, customers who pay the 17 euros entrance fee to Casino de Monte-Carlo are given a choice; they can take a voucher redeemable for two €5 chips, they can take a voucher for €10 to spend at the bar, or redeem the entire €17 within our restaurants if spending over €30. Our figures show that 60 per cent of the people since September 1 have chosen the gaming option, with 40 per cent redeeming the voucher for food and beverages. Of the 60 per cent that chose gaming, 40 per cent played slots while 60 per cent played tables. Feedback from our table

Monte-Carlo to enjoy the historical and high- roller experience. If they are fun players, then we are missing the opportunity to offer time- on-device machines to this kind of player.

Fun players would enjoy the slots in the Casino Cafe de Paris, but they are not visiting this casino. Amongst the 900 machines we offer players across our slots estate, we are focused upon offering the right slot to the right customer in the right location.

Last year, we spoke about changing the view of the non-gaming, for-fun visitor to Monte- Carlo. SBM established initiatives to engage with this visitor profile… has it worked?

It is very difficult to quantify the number of non-gaming, fun players visiting the casinos. What I can confirm is that every department, every outlet, and every service in fun/non- player zones, have seen revenues double since 2017. In addition, since the beginning of

The Monte-Carlo Action Plan is built on three pillars: Excellence, Management and Innovation. Moving into 2019, what specific developments are taking place in these three areas over the next 12 months?

We will continue the development of this plan through different initiatives:

Excellence: we will continue to target high rollers via exclusive events such as our “Surrealistic” and Premium dinners. All of the top clients invited to these events can enjoy a 360° Monte-Carlo experience, including helicopter transfer from and to the airport, night-stay in a Palace, lunch and dinners in Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer awarded restaurants, private tours…

Management: we have just launched a new “Ecole des jeux” (Gaming School) to enrol new croupiers in the near future. We will continue to develop the motivation of our management team with new gaming initiatives; such as the concept of the ‘Nomadic Casino’ during the summer time, making them responsible for working groups with different themes, such as client communication, the loyalty programme and player tracking.

Innovation: We will continue to develop new concepts around our future Premium Dinners and we will work on the lightning of our rooms in order to create cosy atmosphere around the table games.

Tis innovation strategy also applies to our everyday offer in which we continuously seek for the latest technologies in terms of slot machines. We have also just decided to open the first gaming room of the Casino de Monte-Carlo dedicated to slot primo-players as off 10:00am instead of 2:00pm.

Excellence, Management and Innovation are part of a permanent work-in-progress.

With greater competition than ever in the international casino marketplace, is the metamorphosis of Monte-Carlo now heading in the right direction - and how much work is still left to accomplish?

We now can say we are heading in the right direction. We keep on working hard to achieve our goal towards 2020 of re-positioning Monte- Carlo Société des Bains de Mer as the most exclusive gaming destination in Europe. As discussed, the next works will be planned in the rooms where we target our gamblers and VIPs.

We are at the beginning of the investments needed for the repositioning, but at the end of our financial year (March 2019) we will be able to say that 1/3 has been accomplished.
