Switchers from Power Integrations

SAN JOSE, CA — Power Integra - tions has launched its Inno - Switch™3-AQ, an AEC-Q100 flyback switcher IC with integrated 750V MOSFET and secondary-side sens- ing. The newly qualified device fami- ly is aimed at EV applications, such as traction inverters, onboard charg- ers, energy management, and bat- tery management systems. It uses Power Integrations’

high-speed FluxLink™ coupling to achieve ±3 percent accuracy for com-

bined line and load regulation, while eliminating both dedicated isolated transformer sense-windings and optocouplers. FluxLink maintains output volt-

age regulation even under the tran- sient stress test, which is particularly challenging for PSR-based implemen- tations. The integrated 750V MOS- FET meets stringent automotive der- ating requirements, and an on-chip synchronous rectifier controller deliv- ers above 90 percent efficiency at the nominal 400 VDC input voltage. Optimized InnoSwitch3-AQ de -

signs achieve less than 10 mW no- load energy usage across the input voltage range. The InnoSwitch3-AQ family ICs are packaged in a surface- mount InSOP with 0.4 in. (11 mm) primary to secondary creepage, which exceeds the stringent require- ments for high altitude (greater than 5000m) isolation. The RDR-840Q reference design

kit incorporating the newly released IC demonstrates startup, shutdown
