ROSWELL, GA — Rehm Thermal Systems has erected a new building at its headquarters in Blaubeuren- Seissen, Germany, creating space for future needs and a growing team of employees. The new administrative and de-
velopment building include four floors and provides more than 16,000 ft2 (1,500m2) of office space, as well as a research and development cen- ter. The expanded site underlines the company’s commitment to Blau - beuren and the first employees from the service and software depart- ments have already moved in. This year, the company is cele- brating its 30th anniversary, but, due
to the coronavirus pandemic, its tech- nology days and open house planned to mark the occasion have had to be post- poned. Instead, the events are now scheduled for March 2021. During these two days, visitors
will be able to attend lectures on top- ics from both research and practice, workshops and live machine demon- strations, as well as have time for discussions and conversations with
participants and speakers. Contact: Rehm Thermal Sys-

of-the-art automated product lines and is a frontrunner in quality, flexi- bility, efficiency, and short lead times. To continue to meet future de- mand, the company plans to con- struct a new production hall and in- crease its capacity. When choosing the AOI system,
the company carried out an extensive market study and performed many tests and measurements to deter- mine which machine would best fit its needs. Viscom’s S3016 ultra is de- signed to combine high accuracy with ease of use. The advanced 3D AOI system inspects the bottom sides of PCBs precisely, even under extreme cycle times. The machines scope of inspec- tion covers SMT, THT, press-fit, and
are its eight angled cameras that complete the orthogonal image and guarantee a shadow-free inspection. The clear color images are displayed from all nine perspectives to the op- erator, allowing smooth verification of the quality of each connection. “Reinventing oneself and observ-
ing evolutions closely is critical,” says Tom Van Tongelen of Smd-Tec, Vis- com’s sales representative in the area. “Especially when the certainties of the past are suddenly uncertain, it is of ut- most importance that we look ahead,
think ahead and stay ahead.” Contact: Viscom, Inc., 1775

Fuji America Opens Training Facility
VERNON HILLS, IL — Fuji America Corporation and PAC Mexico have opened a new regional training facil- ity in Monterrey, Mexico. The facility is designed to pro-
vide local customers with further in- depth knowledge of operating Fuji SMT equipment, including operator, technician, maintenance, and sys- tems training. The location was added in order to
keep up with growing demand for training and support. The location is a much needed addition to facilities cur- rently operating throughout North
and Central America. The partnership between Fuji and PAC offers cus- tomers turnkey solutions to sales, training and service support in Mexi- co. Fuji America is a subsidiary of Fu- ji Corporation, based in Japan, provid- ing surface mount technology equip- ment. The company’s smart factory so- lutions and reliability help customers

Programming
DULUTH, GA — Koh Young America has joined forces with Mentor, a Siemens business, to deliver an en- hanced programming solution, which will benefit the PCB assembly mar- ket. Building upon Koh Young’s AI- powered auto programming soft- ware, Mentor has integrated its Val- or™ process preparation software to further simplify AOI programming. This collaboration also reduces pro- duction costs, by saving time through the implementation of Mentor’s Open Product Model (OPM). The enhanced software elimi-
nates the need for CAD and Gerber files. The new solution reduces pro- gramming time by blending several elements together, automatically cre- ating the necessary AOI program- ming files. Koh Young has integrated the
Mentor Valor OPM, introduced in 2018, which is an open data assem- bly format structured in XML that focuses on the PCB assembly model and manufacturing process plan. OPM is a solution for the open ex- change of process engineering infor- mation between disparate machines and processes. In the same way that ODB++ works for design data, OPM can meet the demand for flexibility in the Industry 4.0 factory of the future. The second element added to
Koh Young’s software is the exten- sive Valor Parts Library (VPL). Com- prising more than 35 million compo- nent part numbers and package geometry definitions, Valor’s process preparation software uses this infor- mation to fully automate the creation
of new parts and packages for use in inspection systems and mounters. Combining a single assembly
format file output like OPM and a standardized machine package li- brary from VPL, the manufacturer minimizes program variation be- tween machines, such as inspection systems and component mounters. This improved programming can
eliminate human error and variation, while significantly reducing NPI pro- gramming time. OPM is also general- ized so it is interoperable among vari- ous systems and easily enables mov-
ing production between lines. Contact: Koh Young America,
