are designed to offer unrivaled per- formance. Not only do they beat the competition under similar process con- ditions, but they typically outperform at higher production speeds, enabling greater overall productivity and lower cost of ownership.

Thermal Processing Solutions BTU’s products excel in process-

es where precise control of atmosphere and temperature are critical to prod- uct yield. Its Pyramax convection re- flow ovens are used in the production of SMT PCB assemblies and in semi- conductor packaging processes. The company has leveraged the

Pyramax platform to solve some spe- cific customer needs, as well. For cus- tomers who are dealing with thin substrates and have failures associ- ated with warpage, BTU offers its TrueFlat, which holds substrates flat throughout the entire reflow process. For customers dealing with yield losses due to solder voiding, BTU has the Pyramax Vacuum, which has a fully integrated vacuum chamber with controlled heating, enabling the industry’s lowest liquidus times for a vacuum system. As for the foundation, the Pyra-

max reflow oven, it has always been a benchmark for thermal perform- ance and repeatability. The compa- ny’s closed-loop control ensures that customers have the same profile, oven-to-oven, line-to-line and loca- tion-to-location, regardless of where those ovens are in the world. BTU also specializes in preci-

sion-controlled, high-temperature belt furnaces for a wide range of cus- tom applications, such as brazing, di- rect bond copper, diffusion, and alu-

Aimtec, Inc. Launches 30W DC-DC Converter

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA — Aimtec has launched its AM30CW- NZ, a high power density 30W DC- DC converter in a compact 1 x 1 in. (25 x 25 mm) package. It offers a wide 4:1 voltage range of 18 to 75 VDC and operates in a temperature range of –40 to +185°F (–40 to +85°C), making it suitable for many industrial applications. This series can provide stan-

dard output voltages from 5, 12, 15, and 24 VDC and has been designed to meet the 62368-1 — the new safe- ty standard for ICT and AV equip- ment. With an input/output isolation of 1,500 VDC tested for 60 seconds, this series can meet most system iso- lation and safety requirements. Standard features include short

circuit protection, over-current protec- tion, over-voltage protection, and un- der-voltage lockout. The AM30CW-NZ operates with

a typical efficiency of 88 percent, along with a maximum capacitive load of 7,200 µF. Contact: Aimtec, Inc., 205 Rue Joseph-Carrier, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, J7V 5V5, Canada % 514-620-2722 E-mail: sales@aimtec.com Web: www.aimtec.com

minum sintering. The company’s thermal expertise does not end at 752°F (400°C), but goes all the way up to 3,272°F (1,800°C).

Expansion into Mexico The robustness of the perform-

ance of BTU’s Pyramax ovens has turned out to be a great fit for the high-volume production environment of Mexico. The company’s agent, SMarTsol, is also a strong partner. SMarTsol has been serving the

Mexican market for the past eight years and has been building strategic relationships with key automotive and contract manufacturers. The company recently added a new facili-

ty in Querétaro, comprising training rooms, an auditorium and a demo room with BTU equipment. The company has also added to

its direct sales personnel to increase its focus on the Mexican market.

BTU has been on the forefront of technology innovations in direct response to its customers’ needs — most recently, its patent-pending Aqua Scrub flux management system.

Current interest by major customers in moving electronics manufacturing to North America could promise fur- ther expansion in the future. The company’s culture of inno-

vation has resulted in lower costs of ownership, less downtime and higher productivity for its customers. Going forward, the company will remain fo- cused on continuous improvements, not only from a technical point of view, but also in the way it conducts its business. Contact: BTU International,
