Midleton made their


exit from the Cork Inter- mediate hurling


champi-


onship at Ovens last Fri- day night, when they had to give best to Ballincollig in this 3rd


round replay.


In the draw game a week previously Midleton came from behind to earn a sec- ond bit at the cherry when Ballincollig were reduced to 14 players.


On this occasion Ball-


incollig, made no mistake and with a full compliment they again dominated pro- ceedings with Cian Dor- gan once again in sublime form with his striking, both from play and from free’s. Dorgan opened the scor- ing with a point and were denied a goal by great defending by Eoin Molo- ney who hooked Luke Fahy when he seemed set


to goal. That setback was only temporary as Dorgan and Rob Bourke added points, before Midleton got off the mark with points from Garran Manley and Ian Kennefick. Ballincollig were now on


top and with Dorgan and Luke Fahy hitting points a gap began to open with Ballincollig 0-9 to 0-4 in front
