CUNNINGHAM A wonderful lady from
Killeagh, Siobhan Foley turned 90 years old dur- ing the week. Siobhan got a lovely surprise on Friday morning when the Library Staff in Youghal and the
Knitting Group came to- gether to organise a sur- prise birthday party in the Library.
Siobhan was delighted to
be presented with flowers and gifts from her friends and was grateful to her friends and the staff at the
Library in Youghal. The celebrations didn’t
stop
there and continued on Sat- urday evening in Killeagh where Siobhán’s son, Liam hosted a Party for his moth- er at his home. Siobhan was delighted to be celebrating with her daughter Marian, sons Ray, Liam, Ciaran and
Tadgh, Grand-children and Great Grand-children, along with many family and friends.
Siobhan, described by
her children as a wonder- ful mother, who worked very hard especially after the death of their father in
2001, Liam says “She was always kept busy involved with Ceolthas, ICA, Dra- ma and many more. She is a little competitive, if I do say so myself and that was clear when she was enter- ing the baking competitions that used to be held in the Town Hall. She enjoys the

knitting and I remember we would be only in the door and she would be showing off what she made”. Tadgh (Siobhan’s Son) made a speech during the night ap- plauding his mother for her hard work and how privi- leged and proud they are to have her as their mother.
Siobhan’s husband, Bill and daughter Kathleen sadly passed and were remem- bered on the night.
