Walking Group

Houston & Killellan church run a walking group with two walks a month planned; one of these walks could involve some cross-country walking, but these will be mainly on paths or tracks.

For most walks we will meet at the Kirk at 9.30am on Saturday morning.

Should the weather be poor for a cross-country walk then we will probably change the planned walk to a tarmac based walk on the date. Good walking boots are recommended, but walking shoes and trainers will be suitable for many of the walks. Appropriate footwear for each walk will be advised. Waterproofs or rainwear should be carried as we can never be sure of our weather. Walks will be normally be 4 to 8 miles (2 - 5 hours) and brief descriptions of the walks will be found on the Kirk website or by phoning Fergus Stewart at 613083. A packed lunch is suggested as the walks will run through lunch time into the afternoon in many cases.

Any suggestions for future walks are welcomed. For more information contact the organiser - Fergus Stewart. Tel. 01505 613083 marilyn.fergus@ btopenworld.com
