Kilmacolm & Port Glasgow Agricultural Society Annual Show 2011


The 176th Annual Show takes place at The Knapps, Kilmacolm on Saturday 14th May.


Cattle, Clydesdale horses (affi liated to the Clydesdale Horse Society), sheep, dogs, horse jumping, sports on horseback and industrial section. There will be other entertainment in the main ring including Strathblane Falconry, Terrier Racing, St Columba’s School Pipe Band, the May Hughes School of Dance and the Vintage Tractor Parade as well as the Parade of Prize Winners.


Events in the Main Ring start at 10am. The Pet Show is at 12noon and the Dog Show begins at 11.30am (entries on the fi eld from 10.30am). Entry fees for the Industrial Section are 50p per entry (adults) or 20p per entry (children). Exhibits must be delivered at the Show Tent between 8.30am and 10am or at the Village Car Park (this year only) between 9am and 9.30am on the morning of the show.

Houston Kirk Carnival 2011 -


Houston Highland Gathering Look out your tartan, tune your pipes, polish your caber, and get into training for your local Highland Games. We welcome donations for the usual popular stalls and the Gathering Convenors would love to hear from you if you could help in any way. If you can contribute to the plant stall, please start growing bedding plants as soon as weather allows!

Highwood, Kilmacolm 10am to 4pm All money raised will go directly to the work of registered Scottish Charity, Orkidstudio. Come and enjoy a walk in 60 acres of beauti- ful ancient woodland bluebells! Refreshments available, dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead.
