Kilmacolm Dramatic Society
Our spring production “Breath of spring” directed by Seona Laird was staged at the end of March and was a great success. We have had much positive feed back from many of our supporters.
The cast and backstage crew and members of the society spent many months preparing for Breath of spring, so it is very encouraging for KDS when we hear our audiences have enjoyed themselves at the play……..our sincere thanks to all of you who came along and supported us.
Following a well earned rest during April, we will continue our search for the next Play scheduled for late November 2011. This means we will be seeking to recruit new members to KDS male and female - young and not so young.
Please do not hesitate to contact myself Rosie Thirde 01505 873088 or any member for more information….. Or why not visit our web-site at www.

the Travel Blog by Maureen Horton of Travel a la Carte New Flights from Glasgow
I have just taken one of the fi rst Jet2 fl ights out of Glasgow and what a positive experience it was. No need for speedy or priority boarding as everyone is allocated a seat and boarding commences intelligently with those seated at the rear of the aircraft fi rst, allowing a free fl ow of passengers and no holding pattern on air bridges. If you like you can choose your exact seat number at the same time you make your reservation for a small cost.
A generous 10 kg of hand baggage is allowed with no problem about taking a handbag as well. Hold baggage is charged for but is for a case weighing a generous 22kg. The staff were courteous and friendly with an air of wanting to please.
Flight departures, at sociable times are to Alicante: Dalaman: Paphos: Palma: Tenerife and Nice. Geneva will commence from December.
Jet 2 has been operating out of Edinburgh for about 5 years and Northern England airports for longer so is not a newcomer. It also has launched an inclusive package programme and have appointed Travel a la Carte to sell these on their behalf. One of the properties they feature is the extremely popular Sis Pins hotel in Majorca’s Puerto Pollensa. This hotel was previously owned and managed by Globespan and regulars will be pleased it is now available again.
I had taken the fl ight to Nice, where Jet2 operates a twice weekly service on Tuesdays and Fridays, allowing for a short break or a longer 10 day holiday to explore the Cote D’Azur and Provence.
Nice is only a half an hour from the Italian border so if you fancy Rissotto in San Remo for lunch and Bouilabaisse in Bealulieu-Sur-Mer for dinner with a coffee in between in Monte Carlo…. No Problem!
