Constructing solid market foundations

The Alfastreet team at SAGSE 2016

Alfastreet debut at this year’s SAGSE show generates immediate impact with visitors

Alfastreet’s compact Lucky 8 electronic roulette replicated its show-stopping credentials at yet another international trade show. Alfastreet’s Albert Radman describes the immediacy of that impact and market conditions in Argentina

Tis is our first year at SAGSE. We are showing our roulette game in two different configurations: a compact eight player station and the larger 12 player configuration.

Last year we placed numerous products in all the major casinos around Argentina. We are very, very happy about that because, as you know, importing any kind of product into Argentina is not so easy because of all of the bureaucratic obstacles. Tings have not got any easier, not yet, which is why we are proud that we have been able to accomplish this and bring our product to market.

Our machines immediately showed great success and whenever we placed them side by side with existing products, we immediately saw that they outperformed the competition, which is why we have the hot machine in the Argentine market right now.

Our products are popular in Argentina right now for two reasons; the first being the fact that they are the No.1 international products right now - and the second reason is that we have found the market starved of competition, with only a few existing products, made up of local brands that have divided the market up amongst themselves. Te product was basically obsolete. Te service, the products, the whole customer experience was nowhere near the standard it should be. For us, the hardest job was to come into the market.

Alfastreet offer the number one roulette in the market and we are very proud of it. We entered the market last year and the next product we are bringing to Argentina is our Royal Derby, a

mechanical horse racing game, and this is a new product which we will be bringing to the market very soon.

Looking to the wider LATAM market, everyone is eyeing Brazil right now. Tere have been some recent developments, which is keeping the legislation moving in the right direction. We are hoping to seize our opportunities in Brazil. Elsewhere in Latin America we are positioned very well in all of the markets. We are extremely happy with what we have achieved thus far. We don’t have much further to travel to reach our objectives.

If I mention Panama, Colombia and Peru, these are markets that are filled with our products and we need to maintain the numbers. If we increase them, then we are happy, but we are already established and leading the market.

Everybody is saying that SAGSE is a quiet show and shouldn’t be compared to other major shows such as Vegas, London and Macau. But for me, SAGSE is a good show as it is orientated towards the true customers or the the buyers and the operators . . . So I would say it is the first time for us here, but I am very satisfied with the event, with the way things are set up here, with the organisers and I am happy with the attendance as well.

In Latin America we conduct our business alongside Go Global, a company that is a major factor in helping us in our success. Te company is led by our friend Ms Rosana Humar and right now this is a key partnership which is helping us maintain our top position in this market.

Tis is our fourth time at SAGSE. SAGSE is one of the most important Latin America shows, though we also exhibit at Peru and Miami and other shows, but SAGSE is important. I think it is one of the largest and we have a long relationship with them, and so far it has always been very successful for us. So we keep on supporting this event.

BetConstruct is a global company with 13 offices worldwide. Te core of the business is the gaming platform and all the verticals around it: sports-betting, casino, Live Casino and everything else you can think of. We make all our products in-house. We run our own live dealer studio; we operate our own odds and we work very closely with premium content providers. And when we develop our own slot games, for example, we ensure that we licence these products. We aggregate 4,000 games from other providers too and I’d estimate that we have the largest portfolio of games in the industry now as an aggregator.

On the sports-betting side we not only provide the odds, but we also provide the largest number of In-Play options - over 30,000 games a month and we also have an exclusive deal with the Scouting Group, which provides data that we resell. So we do a lot of things. but the most important thing we have done this year is that we have introduced our player management system as an open source for the first time in the industry. It’s a system that controls all of your player information, KYC history data and this is something we also provide. However, from this year we have encapsulated it in open source code, so anybody can take it and continue to develop it on their own, because we believe that we don’t know everything and we always need ideas.

In Latin America we started in Peru where everything was much easier in terms of regulation. We have visited Brazil for industry events deliberating over the market opening, but obviously this year there is more tangible evidence that this is going to happen; and the same here in Argentina with some of the provinces being regulated. Everyone has their fingers crossed hoping for the opening of the markets because governments are starting to realise that first they have to provide the population with something the population wants. It’s not only because of tax income, but they are also seeing from around the world that it is not a bad thing to give entertainment to their people.
