Te new law will require internet service providers (ISPs) on Czech territory to block access to websites on the government’s list of illegal internet gaming sites.

It is thought the taxes and betting restrictions

Until 1992, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic were a federal state, Czechoslovakia. Due to growing nationalist tensions in the government, the country was dissolved and on 1 January 1993 the two states become independent. The dissolution, also called the ‘Velvet Divorce’, was one of the most peaceful country splits of the 20th century. Czechs prefer on the whole to be called Central Europeans, as opposed to Eastern Europeans.

will reduce the number of players switching from current poker providers to licensed operators under the new regime.

New operators are expected to have received their licences by January 2017 although given the high taxes it is anticipated that only the biggest providers will apply. Tose players looking to hook into other ‘grey area’ websites will have a tough time accessing due to the blacklist of non licensed providers and financial transaction blocking, although some say with the use of virtual private networks players can get around the IP blocking on some sites. So how affective the blacklist will be is under debate.

The Czech Republic is home to many famous international companies, including Deloitte Touche, Exxon Mobil and Zara. But the country also has its own homegrown large firms, such as Skoda, Budweiser Budvar, Pilsner Urquell and Bata.

The average working time is generally around 40 hours per week, not taking overtime into account. The standard amount of holidays is 20 days per year and Czechs also benefit from 11 additional national holidays.
