German Associations Back MPK Treaty EMEA
At a Ministers conference (MPK) in Warnemünde, the heads of government have outlined a reformed online gambling and sports betting policy in Germany
New treaty reviews the legislation of online casinos and addresses some of the issues raised by the European Court of Justice.

MALTA – Win Systems has signed a multi-site deal with Maltese gaming parlour operator Fairbet Group. The agreement will see Win Systems’ leading casino management system WIGOS installed across seven sites in five days, connecting 45 terminals, and will give Fairbet a vast array of tools to optimise their offering to players.
The deal marks Win Systems’ first installation of WIGOS in Malta and follows similar agreements in Norway, Ireland and Spain as the Barcelona-based firm continues its expansion in Europe.

Te German Online Casino Association (Der Deutsche Online Casinoverband-DOCV) has welcomed the agreement of the MPK Gambling Treaty. During their annual conference in Warnemünde, Ministers and Prime Ministers have agreed on a change in the State Treaty on Gambling (GlüStV). In doing so, thy have set themselves the goal of first analysing the online casinos market, in order to re-regulate the market, taking into account the experience of other European countries. Te future regulation of online casinos is to be based on the experience of other European countries.
DOCV President Dr Dirk Quermann sees the agreement as an important step towards viable and prudential regulation in Germany.
“It is a good sign that the participants have recognised the realities of a digital and networked market. We need the regulation of online casinos according to qualitative criteria. Tere needs to be a channeling of demand to the serious suppliers, which can guarantee reliable protection and prevention measures. Playtech is set to acquire a majority shareholding of 70 per cent in Consolidated Financial Holdings for US$43.4m. Te remaining 30 per cent of the company will be subject to a put and call option exercisable in 2019, with the consideration to be based on CFH’s earnings at the end of 2018. Te total consideration will be capped at US$120m. Consolidated Financial Holdings offers a straight-through processing brokerage service which provides retail brokers multi- asset execution, prime brokerage services, liquidity and complementary risk management tools. Te deal supports Playtech’s aim to create a business-to-business financial software offering and will provide a significant growth opportunity for CFH by providing it with access to Playtech’s greater scale and financial strength.
