LINCOLNSHIRE POOL HOSTS SECOND ‘DOGGIE DIP’ SESSION After rave reviews from an inaugural Doggie Dip event, an outdoor community swimming pool in Lincolnshire has once again allowed visitors swim with their four-legged friends during its last session of the season. Last year, one of the committee members at Heckington Community Swimming Pool suggested the idea of the event after seeing a video online from a similar event in Yorkshire. Speaking about last year’s event, pool committee Chairman Michael Wells said: “We decided to do it just before we closed for the season because we didn’t know how much cleaning the pool would need afterwards – it turned out to be very little actually.”
POOL CONSULTATION EXTENDED DUE TO WRONG FIGURES Shropshire Council has extended a consultation process into the different pool options for Shrewsbury after it was brought to their attention that financial figures were incorrect.
The incorrect figures were in relation to the costs to operate the existing Quarry Swimming Pool and how the costs, in turn, affect the costs for the other locations. Strategic Leisure Ltd were appointed by the council to undertake a thorough and independent analysis of the shortlist of options for swimming provision in Shrewsbury.
HARVEY HADDEN SPORTS VILLAGE OPENS Nottingham’s Harvey Hadden Sports Village opened in September following a £16m transformation – the largest investment of Nottingham City Council’s Leisure transformation programme. The redevelopment has seen existing facilities improved and most notably, the new attraction of an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The eight lane 50m pool is the only one in Nottingham to offer public swimming every day and features an adjustable pool floor and the ability to be divided into two 25m pools.

Certikin Is In Transporter Mode!
