Fluidra Acquires South Africa’s Leading Pool Company

Fluidra has announced that with a 72% holding, it now has control of South African company WaterLinx, the continent’s pool market leader. In South Africa, WaterLinx has a market share of more than 30%, with sales of €32m. The company has four production centres and ten sales branches located throughout South Africa.

South Africa is the sixth largest market for pools in the world, with nearly 800,000 residential pools and 2,000 public pools. Thanks to this move, Fluidra is advancing in Africa (and in South Africa more specifically), where it will be pr omoting the sale of value- added products for private pools, as well as the commercial pool and irrigation areas. The country is also a gateway for other markets on that continent, because it has a major influence on the countries around it, like Namibia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, as well as all of the other Sub-Saharan countries.

Staff at WaterLinx’s Johannesburg Head Office

South Africa is the most modern and advanced economy in Sub- Saharan Africa, accounting for 23% of the continent’s GDP. With a population of 52 million people, the country is experiencing a rise in its middle class and has become one of the BRICS countries with the greatest growth potential, as well as the only African country forming part of the G20.

Fluidra opened its first affiliate in this country in 2009, with sales branches in Johannesburg and Cape Town. In Africa, Fluidra also has own presence in Morocco and Egypt. The move further confirms Fluidra’s strength and leadership in international markets.

The Futuristic Sauna That Simply Fits Anywhere!

Anyone who’s ever dreamed of having their own private sauna, has previously needed sufficient space for it. That space could then no longer be used for other purposes once the sauna was installed. Until now that is. That’s because the designers at KLAFS have developed a whole new, radically different sauna design – the S1 – the world’s first sauna that retracts at the touch of a button. The key highlight of this sauna is its minimal space requirements. In its fully retracted position the S1 is a mere 60cm deep, just like the average wardrobe. Yet the S1 is a really stylish, high quality, beautifully designed sauna down to the last detail and with room for the whole family.

By pressing a button on the new, extremely compact and slim controls on the front panel, the S1 extends into a ready-to-use sauna in just 20 seconds and is nearly three times as deep. That’s because it consists of three

elements, which can be completely fitted into each other virtually silently and synchronously, thanks to patent-pending eMove technology. The flexible connection technology between the individual elements also ensures that the S1 easily overcomes any small irregularities in the floor and can put a wide variety of floor coverings to the test with its unique skills. The new KLAFS S1 is also designed as a completely self-contained, mobile system. In this way, a guest bedroom, workroom or living room stays just the way it was wherever the

sauna is located. The sauna can be moved just like a wardrobe if you move out. When it comes to design variety, the sauna of the future blends in with the KLAFS tradition.

The S1 is available in three sizes (small, medium and large) and offers nu merous trim and panel options.
