SHOW PREVIEW

Cologne’s Shows Continue To Grow Closer Together

Taking place in late October, we preview Cologne’s aquanale, one part of a duo of exhibitions that are proving to be a winning formula By Jon Wadeson

he next editions of aquanale (the International Trade Fair for Sauna, Pool and Ambience) and the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities, FSB, are being held in Cologne from 27 to 30 October 2015 and all the signs indicate they are both going to be a success. With two shows coming together as one, the event has gone from strength to strength over recent editions and with the relocation to the modern Northern Halls of Koelnmesse, aquanale and FSB also have a new hall concept that is divided up into themes. Already existing synergies in the private and public swimming pool, sauna and wellness sector will be more efficiently presented, which will further improve the event for both exhibitors and trade fair visitors. In addition to the exhibitors, the joint supporting programme, which once again this year targets visitors from the private and public swimming pool sector, is also worth some attention.

All the signs indicate that aquanale 2015 is going to be another successful edition

Once again, all areas of the private and public swimming pool, wellness, sauna and spa sectors are comprehensively represented in Cologne, all under one roof in Hall 6 and divided into six clearly defined themed worlds. As such, the Cologne trade fair duo maps one of the biggest marketplaces of the swimming pool industry following the successful amalgamation of the wet leisure areas of aquanale and the FSB area ‘Public Swimming Pool Construction’ back in 2013. The biennial exhibition attracts many high quality brands from across Europe and beyond and this year’s event is no exception. It will also feature names including Alukov and

Aquacomet with their ranges of enclosures, The Tintometer with their water testing solutions, Pentair with their wide range of innovative products, NIVEKO who will present a fully functional overflow pool from their EXCLUSIVE line so visitors have an opportunity to view one of the many overflow pool solutions they offer, plus Alpha Wellness Sensations who many may know from their UK show attendance with their high quality saunas. The list of names is an impressive one and goes on and on.

There will be a number of names and brands exhibiting in Cologne that will be familiar to those attending from the UK too. Flying the flag and exhibiting their latest products will be Certikin International, Elecro Engineeing, ITS Europe, Golden Coast, Waterco Europe and Triogen to name just a few.

A complete and comprehensive list of all the exhibitors can be found on the exhibition’s website.

For the sixth time, aquanale and FSB will be presenting trends and themes that affect the wet leisure, sport and wellness industry in their congress programme. The 6th Cologne Swimming Pools and Wellness Forum will provide information, ideas and practical tips as well as an outlook of the development of the industry on all four days of the trade fair. Koelnmesse is, together with the bsw (the German Association of Swimming Pools & Wellness e.V.) and IAKS (the International Association for Sport and Recreational Facilities e.V.) trade associations and in

conjunction with further partners, organising an informative and theme-oriented expert programme that is tailormade for the target group of public swimming pool operators as well as for swimming pool builders, hoteliers, planners and architects. The event will be located in Hall 6 for the first time, where appropriately the swimming pool areas of both trade fairs are located. Participation is free of charge and it is not necessary to pre-register. In the ‘Technology & Knowledge’ category, the theme is the new European norms for privately used swimming pools. Structures, contents and solution approaches will be presented here along with a dedicated section on the new EU Biocides Regulation. The ‘PlanerForum Pool Construction’ will focus on the sustainable renovation of public swimming pools and in the ‘Hotel Pools & Sauna Facilities’ sector, the emphasis is being placed on energy efficiency and economic viability while ‘Health Factor Bathing’ will focus on the significance that water holds for vitality and wellbeing. Safety in swimming baths and questions regarding staff development are also on the agenda of the congress. Cross- industry themes such as the type-specific communication and personnel management round off the programme.

INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING POOL CONGRESS EXPANDS SUPPORTING PROGRAMME For the first time ever, the trade fair duo is also hosting the 8th International Swimming Pool Congress of the German Society for Natural Bathing Waters (DGfnB). Around 1,000 congress participants from all over the world are expected to attend the event from 28 to 30 October 2015. So whether it’s the latest products or perhaps the latest trends you’re looking for, all in all, there’s a wide range on offer in Cologne in 2015 and something to suit everyone.
