Nota20 - julho 2015
P 2 7
HMS Belfast, a former Royal Navy cruiser from the 2nd World War. We saw some of the new modern buildings in the city area including the “Cheese Grater”, the “Walkie Talkie” and the “Gherkin”, and also the Mayor of London’s famous round glass building overlooked by the Shard, an 87-storey skyscraper, before walking across Tower Bridge and around the Tower of London. We couldn’t finish the day without going back to Leister Square and visit the famous M&M shop. ON THE FOURTH AND LAST DAY of the trip the stu- dents were too tired to go anywhere. After the last hos- tel breakfast, they packed their bags, checked out and just rested in the lounge for the rest of the time. But the teachers were still ready for action and willing to stick to the plan, so they headed to Regent´s Park, found the canal path and walked all the way towards Camden Lock. In the afternoon there was still time to visit the Brit- ish Library, just across the road from our hostel, before saying goodbye and heading to the airport. Although there were some “hiccoughs” and lots of sore feet, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the win- ning group of students which they will certainly never forget. Thank you Texto Editores!
