• PLACES TO MEET

Just minutes from Manhattan, but with a much more reasonable price tag, the Meadowlands Liberty region has places where friends can meet for a small gath- ering, as well as venues that hold confer- ences for thousands.

Two such spaces available for larger meetings include The Crowne Plaza Hotel and Exhibit Center and the Meadowlands Exposition Center, which can hold meetings of up to 1,000 and 5,000, respectively.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel and Exhibit Center in Secaucus was recently expanded to more than 10,000-square feet and was renovated to raise its ceiling to 10-feet. The renovation also installed new floors and carpeting in its exhibit center and in the hall leading to the exhib- it center, plus new lighting throughout and more. Additionally, restrooms have been redone, and there is now an area for a concession stand or additional vendor booths. The adjacent hotel also will receive upgrades in the coming months.

Meanwhile, the Meadowlands Exposition Center, also in Secaucus, has space and catering available for groups from 50 to 5,000 people. Situated in the heart of the Meadowlands, it is walking distance or a
