Destination Showcase’s February 2012 event at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC began with 10 morning breakout sessions presented by more than 20 meeting plan- ning experts.

Drawing attendees to DMAI’s annual Destinations Showcase Conference and Expos takes a multi-faceted approach. A combination of direct mail, email, social media and print advertising is used to reach and attract meeting professionals.
“I find the combination of direct mail and email are equally valuable in delivering a qualified audience of buyers to our exhibiting meeting destinations,” said Lutsko.
He added that DMAI has a great relation- ship with the host city’s DMO, Destination DC and Events DC, and always is seeking ways to improve the attendee experience. Conducting post-show surveys after each event and passing the appropriate feed- back along to the venue helps to make any needed improvements for future events. Finding out what works well is important so organizers can continue to meet and exceed the attendees’ expecta- tions.
