Studies begin in London with a one-week course on English and transnational legal institutions with several site visits. Students then move to Cambridge with course offer- ings of Consumer Protection in U.S. and E.U. and U.S. Immigration Law with a site visit to the Hague.
The Tulane Institute for European Union Law is housed at Trinity College, the largest college in Cambridge and one of the most prestigious and wealthy colleges in the United Kingdom. The Institute aims to be the leading program on EU law available to U.S. law students, offering the unmatched expertise of British and U.S. law faculty who both educate and interact with students.
Held in London, Brussels, Paris, and Geneva, the Summer Program in Europe introduces law students and attorneys to evolving legal concepts and structures in Europe and in the international arena. Now in its 18th year, the program focuses on the nature and dynamics of European legal institutions and the devel- opment of a body of European laws.
Begun in 1981, the London program features 2 courses in Human Rights Law and Com- parative Constitutional Law, and is open to non-Wake students. Classes are conducted in the Worrell House which is owned by Wake Forest University, and is also where most students live. The program includes visits to British courts, academic institutions, Cambridge, Oxford, and lawyers’ offices.
Tour the Inns of the Court, Parliament, and other legal institutions in the vibrant, historical city of London. Courses are held on the University College London (UCL) in the historic neighborhood of Bloomsbury. In London, you may moot at the medieval Gray’s Inn, receive a Certificate of International Law, and participate in an optional three-week internship.
